The IWFM Level 4 qualifications in Facilities Management are designed for experienced professionals looking to deepen their expertise in facilities management, develop strategic skills, and advance into senior management roles within the industry.

This qualification is ideal for individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing their abilities or those that aspire to be in a management position.

The IWFM Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management consists of five mandatory units (29 credits) plus additional optional units to achieve a minimum of 48 credits in total.

Workshop 1

Overview of facilities management

Develop an understanding of the FM function and the range of associated services, roles and responsibilities and the importance of the contribution of FM in both societal and economic contexts.

Workshop 2

Understanding facilities management strategy

Develop knowledge and understanding of the drivers, tools and principles involved in developing and monitoring facilities management strategies in relation to risk profiles and the overall business strategy.

Workshop 3

Understanding people management in facilities management

Develop knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices, and legal requirements of leading and managing staff in a facilities management.

Workshop 4

Understanding facilities management support services operations

Develop an understanding of facilities management support services operations and how to manage and monitor the delivery of those services safely and on budget.

Workshop 5

Managing health and safety in own area of facilities

Develop and enhance knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace and the Facilities Manager’s role and responsibilities in monitoring and reviewing safety systems.

Workshop 6

Understanding risk management in facilities management

Develop knowledge and understanding of the principles, techniques and methodologies of risk management and the FM’s role in business continuity planning and disaster recovery.

Workshop 7

Understanding facilities management projects

Develop knowledge and understanding of project management from start to finish in a facilities management context.

Workshop 8

Understanding property and asset management for facilities managers

Develop knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of property and asset management in a range of different scenarios and how to plan and manage property relocations.

Workshop 9

Understanding sustainability and environmental issues and the impact on facilities management

Develop understanding of corporate responsibility and the importance of sustainability and environmental issues and how facilities management impacts on the environment.

The IWFM Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management consists of two mandatory units (12 credits) plus additional optional units to achieve a minimum of 24 credits in total.

Develop an understanding of the FM function and the range of associated services, roles and responsibilities and the importance of the contribution of FM in both societal and economic contexts.

Workshop 2

Managing health and safety in own area of facilities (Learnmore recommended optional unit)

Develop and enhance knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace and the Facilities Manager’s role and responsibilities in monitoring and reviewing safety systems.

How will this be assessed?

This qualification will be assessed by Assignments/Personal development plan & Leadership assessment and evalution.

How do i get funding?

You may be eligible for an advanced learner loan if you are aged 19 or over, and do not hold an existing level 3 qualification (or above).

Getting an advanced learner loan doesn’t depend on your household income or your employment status, and there is no credit check. You won’t have to pay anything back until you are earning more than £25,000 per year (before tax and other deductions).

Advanced learner loans are suitable for anyone who:

  • Is aged 19 or above at the start of the programmes
  • Is studying for an eligible course at level 3, 4, 5 or 6 in education or training
  • Fulfils residency criteria

This course is also available without a learner loan and you can pay over 9 monthly instalments (1 x£226 plus 8 x £220)
