The AI Essentials: Building Your Workplace Skills apprenticeship is a 13-month, fully funded programme for early-career professionals, managers, digital support roles, and anyone who wants to work smarter with AI and build the confidence to use it effectively in their day-to-day role.
Across 10 workshops, learners develop practical AI skills covering Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, AI agents, data insights, ethical use, and technical support, and apply them to real workflows and challenges in their own workplace. Delivery is flexible, with organisations able to choose between fully remote, blended, or face-to-face, depending on what works best for their team.
There is no cost to eligible employers, and at the end of it, learners come away with a recognised Level 3 Digital Support Technician qualification, with ILM accreditation included.
Starting out and wanting to build digital confidence from day one, gaining the AI literacy and practical skills to stand out in any modern workplace.

Speak to our team — no obligation, just a conversation.
The programme runs across 10 workshops over 13 months, followed by end-point assessment.
The programme is fully funded for apprenticeship levy payers, meaning there is no direct cost to eligible employers. If your organisation does not pay the apprenticeship levy, you can still access significant funding for this programme. Speak to our team to check your organisation’s eligibility.
Learners achieve a qualification equivalent to a Level 3 Digital Support Technician standard, recognised across the UK as a professional digital skills credential.
This programme is suitable for early-career professionals through to experienced employees looking to step up as digital leaders.
Learners need to be in employment, and their employer needs to be eligible to access apprenticeship funding, which covers most organisations with a payroll over £3m, and many smaller ones too. Not sure if that’s you? Just give us a call and we will check in minutes.
Whether you want to pick up the phone and speak to us, or drop us an email, we’ll let you decide.

An introduction to AI and how it works in practice — covering machine learning, generative AI, and where AI already sits in everyday digital tools. You’ll learn how to spot opportunities to use AI to improve productivity and manage your own workload more effectively.
This workshop covers the risks that come with AI — including bias, hallucinations, and overreliance — alongside your responsibilities around data protection and GDPR. You’ll leave knowing how to handle data securely, maintain a safe working environment, and apply the right measures to protect against data loss.
Focused on building the right mindset for working with AI day-to-day. You’ll explore when AI should and shouldn’t be used, how to support colleagues in using it safely, and how to develop a sustainable approach to AI that keeps data integrity and confidentiality front of mind.
A practical workshop on using AI to improve written communication — drafting and refining emails, responding to users and stakeholders, and reviewing AI-generated outputs to ensure they meet the right quality and tone standards.
Learn how to use AI to produce SOPs, FAQs, and user guides, as well as summarise policies and maintain accurate documentation. This workshop also covers version control, cloud vs. physical storage, and how to keep documents secure and backed up.
Explores how AI can support team working — from generating meeting summaries and tracking actions, to building shared knowledge bases and retrieving information quickly. You’ll also develop skills in managing stakeholder expectations and knowing when to escalate issues.
This workshop helps you identify which tasks are good candidates for automation. You’ll analyse workflows, weigh up efficiency against risk, and develop skills in supporting colleagues through digital change — as well as planning your own continued learning.
A hands-on introduction to Power Automate, covering how to build basic automated flows with AI support, and how to monitor and troubleshoot them. You’ll also explore how automation connects to broader workflows and configuration support.
Covers what AI agents are, what they can and can’t do, and how to design prompts that get the best out of them. You’ll also look at how to support and maintain agents in a responsible and ethical way.
Develops structured fault-finding and problem-solving skills for technical support. Covers diagnosing root causes, resolving or escalating issues, configuring systems for users, and communicating technical information clearly to different audiences.
Focuses on supporting application users, resolving productivity issues, and helping roll out digital solutions. You’ll develop
skills in coaching colleagues, integrating applications across business functions, and presenting information to a range of audiences.
Learn how AI processes and interprets data, and how to turn that into useful dashboards, trend summaries, and insights that you can explain clearly to stakeholders. Connects data skills directly to supporting business decisions and continuous improvement.
Prepares you to help your organisation embrace AI confidently. Covers how to address common fears and misconceptions, coach users effectively, and provide guidance that aligns with organisational policy — while also applying diagnostic and resolution skills to real digital challenges.
The final capstone workshop, where you bring together everything from the programme. You’ll present a real workplace AI use case, demonstrate responsible and effective use, and reflect on your learning across all knowledge, skills and behaviours.
